Foods & Culinary Fast Facts, Last Updated:09/10/2010 In the RomanEmpire, common folk in cities often had no kitchen of theirown; they did their cooking in large public kitchens. Some had smallmobile bronze stoves, onwhich a fire could be lit for cooking. Wealthy Romans had relatively well-equippedkitchens.
